Our Lions Club
Friedrichshafen Hersberg Castle Cyber
On 11 August 2015, the Lions Club Friedrichshafen - Schloss Hersberg Cyber was officially recognised by Lions Clubs International.
This Cyber Club foundation is a very special event in the history of the German Lions. The charter ceremony took place in a festive setting at the Lions Europe Forum in Augsburg, with the then International President Dr Jitsuhiro Yamada handing over the certificate. The founding of the club goes back to the International Lions Youth Forum organised by MD 111 Germany and the German Lions Service Organisation (HDL) in August 2014. From this format, the participants realised that a hopeful Europe can only succeed through "working together". This realisation became an essential element of the club's mission statement and is still supported by its members from all over Europe today.
LIONS Germany
The German Lions stand for international understanding, diversity, tolerance and acceptance without prejudice. Globalisation and demographic change require us to play an active role in shaping social change. Our organisational structure is characterised by mutual respect and appreciation of each individual, regardless of their differences. We help locally and help shape change. Our values, characterised by the Enlightenment, are both the starting point and the limit of any intercultural opening. The universal validity of human rights must not be restricted by traditions or religious interpretations.
LIONS INTERNATIONAL
Lions Clubs International is a worldwide association of people who tackle social problems and work together to help solve them - in their own region and around the world. The ways of helping are extremely diverse. Lions Club International is politically, religiously and ideologically neutral.
The most important goals of Lions Clubs International are
/ To awaken and maintain a spirit of mutual understanding among the peoples of the world.
/ To promote the principles of good government and good citizenship.
/ To actively promote the civic, cultural, social and general development of society.
/ To unite the clubs in friendship, camaraderie and mutual understanding.
/ To motivate committed people to serve the community without deriving personal material gain from helping people in need.
